BTS headlined the opening night of the 2026 iHeartRadio Music Festival at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas on Friday, September 18, 2026, closing the first of the event’s two nights before a packed arena. The South Korean group’s set was among the most anticipated bookings of the weekend, and their return to the Las Vegas stage drew fans from around the world to the Nevada desert.
The band ran through a tight, four-song set that paired newer material with a career staple, performing “SWIM,” “2.0” and “FYA” from their album “ARIRANG” before closing with “MIC Drop,” the 2017 track that remains one of their signature live numbers. The staging leaned on sharp choreography and a large video backdrop rather than lengthy stage patter. Fans in the arena responded loudest to the opening of “MIC Drop,” which closed the set on a high.
Hosted by Ryan Seacrest, the two-night festival on September 18 and 19 gathered a broad, genre-spanning lineup that included Cardi B, Ciara, Kenny Chesney, Lainey Wilson, Muse, Snoop Dogg, Weezer, LE SSERAFIM and Zara Larsson. Additional performers across the weekend included Benson Boone, Goo Goo Dolls, The Smashing Pumpkins and Major Lazer. The event was livestreamed on Disney+ and Hulu, with a highlights special scheduled to begin streaming on both platforms from October 1.
BTS remain one of the most commercially powerful acts in global pop, with a fan base that has helped the group break streaming and touring records over the past decade. Their appearance in Las Vegas was read by many observers as a marker of the group’s momentum in its current era, following a period in which the members balanced solo projects and other commitments before regrouping.
The iHeartRadio Music Festival has long functioned as a showcase where pop, rock, country and hip-hop share a single bill, and a headline slot is treated as a signal of an act’s standing. For BTS, closing opening night placed them at the center of one of the American music calendar’s most visible autumn events. The 2026 edition continued that tradition across two nights of performances. iHeartMedia stations across the United States promoted the two nights heavily in the run-up to the event.
